Guidelines for Mailbox Installation
When installing your free standing mailbox, please follow these guidelines:
- Mailboxes are to be no closer than 12 inches to the roadway
- For safety reasons, mailbox posts are to be constructed of a yielding design, made of treated wood no greater than 4 inches square
Winter Reminders
- Install a snow shield during winter months to protect mailbox from snow plow damage
- During winter months, clear the area in front of the mailbox to prevent interruption of mail delivery
- Remind your snow plow contractor not to push snow against the mailbox
- If the mailbox does get damaged, the Service Department can assist you with a temporary repair
