[ARCHIVED] CEI/First Energy Storm Update

Field crews will first respond to hazard calls involving downed power lines. If you see a power line that is down, assume that it is live and dangerous and stay clear of the area. Call First Energy, immediately, to advise them of the situation. After responding to hazardous situations, crews will then focus on restoring critical facilities next, and then move to repairs which will restore the greatest number of customers in the least amount of time. This means that single and small grouped outages may expect longer restoration time.

Call 1-888-LIGHTSS if you are experiencing a power outage. Do not assume that since your neighbor or street is without power, that your address has been reported. It is important for you to report your outage to First Energy and to provide them with your address in order to help them gauge the size and scope of the outage. Once you report your outage, you be advised of an estimated time for the repair to be completed, and for the restoration of power.
