The countywide ban of single use plastic checkout bags began on January 1, 2020 to help keep our communities and waterways clean and healthy. Under the ban, retail establishments can no longer provide disposable plastic bags or non-permitted paper bags at the checkout. Customers should bring their own reusable bags, which are available for purchase at most grocery stores and many retail establishments.
