[ARCHIVED] Statewide Tornado Drill - March 24, 2021

The City of Highland Heights will be participating in the statewide Tornado Drill that will take place tomorrow, March 24, 2021 at 9:50 a.m. This week (March 21-27), is designated as Ohio’s Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week. Spring brings the increased possibility of flooding, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, and associated hazards such as hail, high winds, and lightning strikes.

The Highland Heights Fire Department will be activating the outdoor emergency siren located at the fire station. This is only a test of the siren and NOT an actual emergency. During the Tornado Drill, all communities across the State of Ohio will test their tornado sirens or other weather warning systems. In addition, an Emergency Alert System (EAS) warning message will be broadcast.
